Individual Planning

  • Plan for College and Career Readiness Meetings:

    • Students and parents have the opportunity to meet with their counselor, discuss their post high plans, choose classes that will help prepare them for the future and review the steps they need to be taking now to be ready for college and careers. Watch for more information in your email/mail in January.

Guidance Curriculum

  • Mental Health Classroom Presentations

  • Utah Futures Presentations:

    • 10th grade English classes review college and career information and take interest inventories to help introduce them to careers they might be interested in. 11th grade History classes review college and career information and take a reality check inventory to test whether their lifestyle choices will match the job they want. 

  • College 101 Presentations:

    • Everything you need to know about applying for college and scholarships. Given in 11th grade History classes.

  • FAFSA and Scholarship Night:

    • Geared towards seniors, come learn about how to pay for college and get help from state experts to fill out your FAFSA.

  • College Tour:

    • Representatives from colleges across the state will visit Sky View and introduce you to their school and what is required to apply. All seniors and any juniors in National Honors Society are invited to attend. 

  • Job Shadowing:

    • Students are invited on a field trip to visit a professional in a field they are interested in and learn about the ins and outs of the job.

 

Responsive Services

  • Guided RoCK Hour:

    • An intervention for students struggling academically to help them utilize ROCK Hour and improve their grades and study habits.

  • Educational Group

  • Directetd Studies: Make up credit.
